Described by Diario La Tribuna as “a promise of music and a beacon of hope for Honduran culture,” Moisés Duarte is a multifaceted artist whose career bridges the worlds of opera, orchestral music, and traditional Latin American genres. Growing up in Honduras, Duarte discovered early on that music was – as he describes it – “a lifeline”. It became a way to tell stories, give voice to the silenced, and celebrate the rich heritage of his homeland. This passion for music and its ability to transform lives has shaped his journey and continues to fuel his artistry.

Duarte has performed across four continents, gracing stages from the Honduran National Stadium —where he sang before 45,000 people— to intimate chamber concerts in India, Austria, Italy, Germany, and Bulgaria. His ability to move effortlessly between classical and contemporary repertoire is matched by his dedication to connecting with audiences on an emotional level. Whether performing operatic roles like Escamillo in Carmen or the Toymaster in Babes in Toyland, Duarte captivates with his rich vocal color and magnetic stage presence.

As a soloist, Duarte has collaborated with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Honduras, delivering standout performances that showcase his technical skill and emotional depth. His original works, including his 2022 single No Debí, reflect his ability to infuse modern sensibilities with a deep respect for his cultural roots. For Duarte, music is not only a form of expression but also a way to honor and preserve the traditions of Latin America while inspiring new generations.

His contributions to Honduran culture earned him the title of Cultural Ambassador of Honduras in 2021, along with the prestigious Mercedes Agurcia Membreño Medal for Culture and Arts, presented by President Juan Orlando Hernández. Duarte has also received the Emerald Hummingbird Award for his performance at the National Song Festival and was named Revelation Artist of the Year at the Extra Awards.

Beyond his performances, Duarte is deeply committed to the transformative power of music. As the host of the television program Frecuencia Positiva, he used his platform to promote music’s ability to create social change and foster connection. This commitment is also evident in his current studies at St. Olaf College, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance while continuing to compose, arrange, and share his voice with the world.
